Davao is one of the must-see places in the Philippines because it has so much to offer. The Davao International Airport or also called the Francisco Bangoy International Airport is the main link of the Davao region to other countries and to the rest of the islands of the Philippines. It is considered the busiest airport in the Southern Philippines. The airport has international flights coming from Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong will daily national flights coming from Manila, Cebu and Zamboanga as well.

Philippine airlines and Cebu Pacific have daily flights coming in from Manila to Davao. Similar flights also come from the places of Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga. There are also smaller planes that can take you to Davao that come from other cities as well.

Bourag Indonesia Airlines offer weekly flighst to Davao from Hong Kong and Manado with a short stopover at Cebu. Silk Air comes from Singapore, Viva Macau comes from Macau, Air Frontier coming from Darwin, and Asiana Airlines from Seoul all have direct flights to Davao.

By Land

There are several options to get to Davao by means of land transportation. This is best advised for travelers who are already in the Mindanao region. Both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses are the cheapest option to get to the city coming from any major destination such as Cagayan, Bukidnon, Zamboanga and Iligan. Philtranco buses will be your best option to get to Davao, but brace yourself for a long but scenic view of the trip.

Jeepneys, taxi and rented cars are also a good means of transportation of getting to Davao, but these modes of transportation are more recommend when it comes to getting around the city. These options may become more expensive and inconvenient especially when coming from farther destinations.

By Sea

Along the Davao gulf, you’ll be able to see boats coming into shore in different sizes. These vessels come and go from various islands all over the county. Small boats are perfect for those who plan to go to the nearby islands of Davao such as the Samal Island.

Sea travel by use of the Super Ferry is a good and less expensive option to get tourists to Davao from Manila, Cebu and other major cities around the country. It usually takes an overnight trip to get to Davao from Manila.
